Quarter Notes is published quarterly - in September, December, March and June - in Concord, NH by Town and Country Reprographics. The deadline for submission of material is the 1st of the month before it is published.

Editor's Note - September 2010
There are some BIG changes in Quarter Notes and at www.nhmea.org this year! Quarter Notes will now be published quarterly – in September, December, March and June. This decision was largely made because advertising revenues are no longer able to cover the entire cost of the publication. On that note, if you know of a local music company that might be interested in advertising, please send me their information!
Application/Registration Forms for festivals will no longer be published in Quarter Notes, as we are trying to transition all of these activities to our website at www.nhmea.org. For this year, for most festivals you will still have to download a form, print it out and mail it in, but our Executive Director is researching ways to accomplish all of this online, which should make things easier for all of us – for you on the postage side, for us on the data entry side.
I would like to begin publishing Noteworthy News about your students – if something extra special happens, grab a photo, obtain permission for the photo to be used for publication, and send my way with some brief information about what happened and why you want to share.
Online, our Members Only area has gone the way of the dinosaurs. Thank you to those members who joined with me in that experiment. While the idea is very worthy, the Ning hosting was not a particularly good fit for us, and they have raised prices, so we have chosen to discontinue. The NHMEA library information is now hosted on our regular website, under the “Resources” heading. Additionally, beginning with this issue, Executive Board Minutes will now be published online rather than in Quarter Notes.

Important Updates:
At their November 2009 meeting, the NHMEA Executive Board adopted the following procedure changes:
- Beginning with the March 2010 issue, all MENC/NHMEA members will receive individual copies of “Quarter Notes”at their preferred address. Schools that have no teachers holding membership will receive one courtesy copy addressed to “Current Music Teacher”. Copies will also be forwarded to all NH Superintendents, current advertisers, MENC State Editors, the MENC Eastern Division President and President-Elect and the MENC National President and President-Elect. The current mailing list will be notified about this change of procedure through the January Quarter Notes.
- Beginning in Sept of 2010, all festival/event applications and registration forms will be available only at www.nhmea.org.
